- There is also the ICD Flicker Free Video 2. I bought one of these a few
- years back for 200UKP and it has been in my A500+ ever since. I've been
- very satisfied with it. It supports every OCS screenmode (PAL/NTSC) but does
- not support the newer ECS modes - SuperHires (which is decimated 2:1
- horizontally - only every second pixel in each row is displayed) and
- Productivity (which is simply piped straight through unchanged - so
- productivity laced still flickers). I don't use either of these modes anyway -
- my monitor just doesn't like them - so this is not a problem for me. If you
- want SuperHires to display correctly, there is a bypass jumper on the board to
- disable the device - if you connect this to a toggle switch you can switch the
- FFV2 off when displaying SuperHires.
-
- It consists of a daughterboard which plugs into the Denise socket, with an
- additional socket on the daughterboard in which to place Denise. Output is
- through a DB9 connector (I built my own adaptor to connect this to an SVGA
- monitor). Included with the package is a faceplate on which to mount the
- connector on an A2000.
-
- Given that I bought this new for 200UKP, I guess you could pick one up second
- hand for half that or less - approx. 150US$.
